The position – Assistant Sector Head, Marine

For Safinah Group, Landau Headhunting is now looking for an ASSISTANT SECTOR HEAD for the Marine division, to support the solid and steady, continued growth in the Marine sector.

Due to Safinah Groups significant growth, the team requires a new college capable of fulfilling a managerial role and to support the company vision of leadership within its chosen market segments and to support the growth ambitions in Marine.

The position as ASSISTANT SECTOR HEAD requires of course travel activities for projects and meeting clients worldwide. Expected travel level is >50 days per year.
 

Your Primary responsibilities

In this role, your main responsibilities will be to:

• Support to deliver the sector budgeted sales value and profit

• Support marketing and business development within the sector to ensure a pipeline of enquiries and hence contracts to deliver the budgeted value, profit, and utilization rates for the team of inspectors

• Handle selected accounts and general “first point of contact” engagement with clients

• Manage the Tech managers in Europe & Asia to ensure:

  • Resources are available to new enquiries and contracts within the sector

  • The team of field coating supervisors/surveyors has functional support as required for each enquiry and project

  • Ensuring Safinah tech team meet Safinah standards

  • Close contact to appointed account and responsibility for execution of secured contracts within the sector

• With Sector Head: responsible for suitable resourcing for the sector incl needs for support to other sectors of Safinah

• Be an active member of the Safinah Leadership Team attending meetings and contributing to the overall business management, processes, and general continuous improvement

Secondary Responsibilities
 

• Personal / professional development of self and team

• Contribute to the refinement of the CRM system, and to ensuring its efficient and correct use

• Contribute to the website & LinkedIn content 

• Comply with and contribute to the company Health and Safety procedures

• Write and support the generation of appropriate papers and articles

• Conference attendance and presentation as required

• Mentoring as agreed (consultants, students, interns etc.)

• Manage R&D projects as appropriate

General Requirements 
 

• Engagement in accounts / contracts/ projects either as lead or team member 

• Always meet agreed deadlines for contracts / business development plans / administrative work / special projects

• Ongoing CRM review with new and past clients

• Always use the company systems correctly and ensure the latest document templates are used in all reporting

Education & Qualifications
 

• Graduate in Marine or Chemical related disciplines and/or a member of a recognized professional body and/or an alternative suitable qualification 

• Relevant professional experience from coatings manufacturer and/or vast practical/applied knowledge from the marine coatings field

• Appropriate network

• Familiarity with regulatory requirements

• High level of competency in Microsoft Office applications

• Recognized competencies in his/her own field of work

Physical Requirements
 

• Capable of global travel and working in typical marine, industrial, and chemical environments.

• Can work from home / office / site

• Flexible to travel at short notice if required

Location

The successful candidate would ideally be based in Denmark, in the Copenhagen area, preferably close to our Gentofte office. Other relevant locations in Europe, Asia and ME can also be considered.
