The job

We are looking for an experienced System Test Manager to expand and transform our System Validation Team to a truly global function. The new System Test Manager must define and implement a test strategy that covers all product types and ensures efficient automated and manual system validation conducted by the in-house and offshore test teams and ensure that the quality is correct before the products and systems are delivered to our customers.
You will be part of our R&D organization and people manager for an expanding team of experienced test engineers and technical publishers. You will be responsible for the planning and execution of the system validation and technical publishing projects supporting our R&D product and system development projects. 

This position is based at our headquarters in Kgs. Lyngby.
Your responsibilities as a Test Manager include:

• Planning of test strategy, test effort and resources to support the different R&D projects 
• Lead, coach, motivate and develop your team on both the technical and personal level 
• People manager for an experienced team of Test Engineers and Technical Publishers 
• Responsible for the strategic development of test processes and test maturity 
• Interact with other R&D functional and project managers 
• Develop and implement a test automation strategy for the different product groups 
• Transform the test function from a local to a global function with overall responsibility for the test strategies for all product groups 
• Manage and plan effective execution of the test projects utilizing in-house as well as offshore teams and outsourcing partners 
   

Your Qualifications

As Cobham SATCOMs new System Test Manager, we expect your previous experience and qualifications to include:

• Outgoing and open-minded person with the ability to state your opinion and promote your team and functions 
• Min. five years’ experience as a Test Manager 
• Experience with complex embedded systems and preferably telecommunication Experience in working with outsourcing partners and/or different team locations and cultures 
• Preferably proven experience with transformation/expansion of a team 
• Solid understanding of test automation capabilities and limitations 
• Experience with test strategy, process and test maturity definition and implementation 
• Preferably ISTQB Test Manager certifications 
• Experience with Requirements and Test Management tools 
• Strong personal drive and dedication for the test discipline 
• Technical background as a SW developer or Test Engineer with hands-on test experience of embedded systems 
• Always seeking to improve and optimize ways of working for you and your team

The Domain

Satellite antenna and terminal development provides the opportunity to engage with various technologies and concepts including network stacks, communication protocols, proprietary hardware interfaces and mechanical solutions, Linux applications and open-source packages, cyber security, real time operations and mathematical algorithms etc. Cobham SATCOM's equipment needs to interface and comply with several 3rd party products which together with the requirements of the end-users and regulatory constraints set some challenging objectives. The work is done in cross-functional software teams with a flavour of scrum, which is continuously being improved. Cobham SATCOM benefits from a modern development pipeline of source control and configuration, automatic build and test systems, code review and project tracking based on Git, Bitbucket, Docker, Jenkins and Jira.
