Our client, LEMAN OY, is a leading global transport, logistics and freight forwarding company with offices in Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden, UK, US and China employing approx. 850 employees. The LEMAN Group has launched a growth strategy with a wish to grow both organically and through acquisitions in the countries where the group is already present. LEMAN OY has appr. 25 employees and a turnover of 20M EUR.
People are LEMAN’s strongest asset, and LEMAN OY is currently looking to expand their management team in Finland with a new Road Division Manager. LEMAN OY is located in Vantaa (HQ), Turku and Kotka. This position is placed in Vantaa.
The Job
The Finnish market position is an important focus area that LEMAN will strengthen, and the business area of Road is central to the overall business. Therefore, we are looking for a strategic, international and highly commercial profile with a strong hands-on/operational experience and attitude, who can contribute to a growth journey, where untapped markets are entered, and LEMAN Finland is brought to the next level.
As LEMAN’s Road Division Manager, you will be reporting directly to the CEO of Finland and be part of the Finnish management team. You will have the responsibility for a team of approximately 10 employees split between Vantaa and Turku. You will be in charge of strategic and operational activities in line with business and growth plans and according to the company mission LEMAN3+. As LEMAN’s Road Division Manager, you must be able to work in a multisite environment, drive cooperation and create synergies across the business to deliver improved top and bottom-line growth, working closely with other LEMAN countries and partners to align business, services & costs.
Your Professional Skills & Experience
For this important role, you must have a minimum of 5 years leadership experience and a broad business understanding acquired from logistics and international road transports. Furthermore, we are looking for the following professional skills:
- Strong operational knowledge.
- Network within the industry and relevant fields, as well as experience of negotiation with partners and providers (haulage etc).
- Financial acumen and understanding of business drivers and ability to deliver profitable results.
- Able to set directions, priorities and goals; able to secure plans and organization in order to realize and deliver ambitions and results.
- Engaged leadership with motivation as a key word, building efficient teams that work towards common goals.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, and to establish own work schedule.
- Business driven, well-structured and target oriented.
- Experienced in working with complex RFQ’s, designing the set-up proposal, including pricing.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written (English and Finnish).
