Hitachi Zosen Inova (HZI) is a global cleantech company operating in energy from waste (EfW) and renewable gas. HZI have been building and maintaining plants for almost 90 years having more than 800 reference projects worldwide and an organization of more than 2.000 employees. Their main focus is on converting solid and organic waste streams to valuable end commodities, incl. electricity, heat, renewable hydrogen & methane, metals, salts etc. They develop projects with their clients and then draw on their experience as a general engineering, procurement and construction contractor to deliver on their behalf complex turnkey plants and system solutions for thermal and biological EfW recovery, gas upgrading and power to gas. They also offer comprehensive, expert and reliable after-sales services for operators of existing plants.
Reporting to HZI’s Director of O&M Business you will aim to ensure “best in class” performance on all HZI Build Own Operate (BOO) Renewable Gas (RG) O&M Sites, currently two in Germany and one in Switzerland. You will lead and manage the O&M BOO RG projects which are intended for unmanned operation with very little or no site organization. Furthermore, you will act as part of the JV Board if a partnership has been established in the project.
You will be appointed for new projects as early in the process as possible enabling a Life Cycle Management approach and ensuring all project agreements supporting this approach. During the project execution there will be a transition and hand-over from the Business Development team, and then you will assume the full responsibility for the project including the project P/L.

You can expect 40-60 days’ travel activity, mainly in Germany and Switzerland.
Your educational background is not our primary focus. It is your professional experience that counts. However, we imagine a person with a technical background such as a master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering – possibly supplemented by a business degree. Combined with commercial and managerial experience.
The job requires that you are fluent in English and German, both verbal and written. Other languages will be an advantage. Since most operational and commercial activities in this role will take place in Germany and Switzerland it is important that you are based accordingly.
