For MSI, Landau Headhunting is now looking for a Crewing Manager to ensure a solid and steady workforce planning and management, crew training and compliance with HSEQ rules and regulations. The role reports to the Managing Director of MSI Group and includes management responsibility of two Crew & Project Coordinators.
Ideally, you will be working from MSI’s office in either Denmark (Gentofte) or Poland (Gdynia).

 

Your main responsibilities


In this role, your main responsibilities will be to:
  • Manage the crewing team, including full management responsibility of two Crew & Project Coordinators based in the Gdynia office. 
  • Close corporation with the project teams of existing and new projects to ensure the availability of the right candidates for each project and the compliance with the owner’s requests.
  • Negotiate terms / condition with external manpower companies and keep close contact with these. Prepare and implement KPI’s towards the external manpower companies.
  • Coordinate with each Project Supervisor/Manager regarding crew change and travel plans and make sure the Crew & Project Coordinator has all information needed to arrange crew travel and visa/work permit details.
  • Initiate and handle in cooperation with your team and Project Supervisor/Manager all personnel related corrective actions needed during projects. Replace crew members and initiate actions in case of non-conformance.
  • Develop and implement the MSI Crew Academy including training programs with courses relevant to the work being carried out and to the future plans and needs of MSI. Ensure that proper records are kept for all training received. Select and place orders for external courses as required. Arrange periodic Supervisor Seminars and other meetings as required.
  • Ensure that there is a system in place to disseminate lessons learned and other experiences gained from vessel to vessel.
  • Ensure continuous development of the use of the crewing IT program “Omega”.
  • Travel activity up to 30 days a year is to be expected.
     

Your professional and personal qualifications


Being the ideal candidate, we presume that you possess the following experience and qualifications:

  • Experience from crew planning/management (HR).
  • Experience with project management related to recruiting, selecting and coordinating crews for complex projects in various locations.
  • Basic understanding of Project Management tools and techniques and a willingness to expand and add to these skills over time. 
  • Cultural sensitivity and willingness to work with people from multiple countries with varied backgrounds, educations and religions including experience and interest in long-distance management of critical projects around the world. 
  • Familiar with selection and development of skilled work force and acknowledgement of the importance of training programs for foremen, supervisors and new workers. Experience in conducting crew training. 
  • Ability to investigate non-conformance and incident reports and to recommend and apply relevant corrective and preventive actions.
  • Experienced with MS Office package (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint),  effective use of PDF files, Internet and e-mail. Ability to organize project documents in a relevant folder structure and possible 
  • Experience with the crewing software OMEGA or similar will be an advantage.

Your educational background is not our primary focus. It is your professional experience that counts. The job requires that you are fluent in English, both spoken and written. Polish will be an advantage.
