For Safinah Group, Landau Headhunting is now looking for COATING CONSULTANTS to further the solid and steady growth in the Marine Sector.
Due to Safinah Groups significant growth, the team requires new colleges capable of fulfilling a consultant’s role and to support the company vision of leadership within its chosen market segments and to support the growth ambitions in Marine.
The position as COATING CONSULTANT requires of course travel activities for inspections/project and meeting clients located worldwide. Max 50 day per year expected.
In this role, your main responsibilities will be:
Coating failure investigation and root cause analysis
Claim case handling and Expert witness work
Review of coating specifications and guarantees
Generation of functional coating specifications
Assisting asset owners with optimized product selection / coating technology
Training and customer presentations
Conference attendance and presentation as required
Mentoring as agreed (consultants, students, interns etc.)
Manage R&D projects as appropriateBusiness Development and lead generation within the sector
Scoping and oversight of analytical testing programs
Generation of white papers and technical articles
Training of employees
Company strategy development and implementation
Contribution of insights into Special Projects as appropriate
Solid specific experience in either fouling control coatings and/or cargo tank coatings is required and experience in cargo hold coatings would be an added benefit.
Expectedly MSc or PhD degree or similar in a relevant science subject e.g., Chemistry, Materials, Corrosion, or other engineering discipline.
You are ideally a formulating or coating Chemist with subsequent field-based experience or a commercially related role such as sales, marketing, business development or senior management.
You have experience of field-based coating inspections or supervision in the marine sector.
High level of IT skills and competency in Microsoft Office applications.

The successful candidate would ideally be UK-based to serve the insurance markets and preferably based in our Gateshead office. Other relevant locations in Europe, ME or Asia can also be considered.
