For Famsun’s European R&D organisation, Landau Headhunting is looking for a 
Senior Fan Designer with experience designing fans for animal farm ventilation systems.
Being the perfect candidate, you have 8 or more years of experience working in the agricultural industry with ventilation systems, equipment design and verification.

You will be part of a global multi-cultural company with headquarters in Yangzhou, China and R&D centers in Kansas City in the US, Aarhus in Denmark and Oldenburg in Germany. Famsun has sales offices around the world selling and servicing their pig and poultry farm systems. You will be employed by Famsun’s R&D office in either Denmark or Germany. But you can work most of the time from your home office or an office near your home. Therefore, your place of residence could be anywhere in Europe. 

Your key tasks

Famsun has designed and developed Intelligent and Smart Feed Factories for some years, and they are a world leading company in this area. They have the ambition also to take the farming systems to the next level with Intelligent and Smart Farms. The Smart Farms of the future will require high performing energy efficient ventilation equipment and solutions, and you will play a key role ind the design and development of these new solutions. 

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be as below:

• Make specifications for new fan products for farm ventilation
• Design new fan products together with R&D teams in our international R&D centers
• Make design of core components
• Review of designs
• Testing and simulations, aerodynamics and air flow simulations using e.g. CFD
• Cooperate with leading Universities within air flow and ventilation research areas
• Guide and educate your engineering colleagues at Famsun’s international R&D centers.

Your professional profile

Being the ideal candidate, you have solid experience working in the agricultural industry with product specification and design. You have a deep technical understanding and experience with ventilation systems and equipment for animal farms including axial fan design, aerodynamics and air flow simulations, blade design and slipstream theory, testing using wind tunnels, unstable flow analysis and troubleshooting, fixed and variable frequency drives and equipment selections.

As the right candidate, you are expected to have competence and experience with:

• Ventilation systems and equipment for animal farms in general
• Axial fan design
• Aerodynamics and air flow simulations
• Blade design and slipstream theory
• Testing using wind tunnels
• Unstable flow analysis and troubleshooting
• Fixed and variable frequency drives and equipment selections
• Understanding the variety of requirements for climate systems for different climate areas (hot, cold, etc.) of the world including systems for Asia
• Understanding the variety of customers and customer types and their individual requirements
• Writing product specifications
• Skills to communicate product requirements to Famsun’s development teams
• Working in an international R&D organisation using agile methods and processes.

We expect you to have a Master degree or PhD in mechanical engineering preferably with practical experience in the agriculture business.
